The HTL EKE/AL (a.k.a. L1090, 9596ER) is a 21 V / 150 W MR16 Aluminum‑Reflector Halogen Lamp with GX5.3 base for fiber‑optic illuminators, microscopy, and spectroscopy. Forward projects visible + IR (≈400–2100 nm) for extended spectral output vs. cool‑beam/dichroic types. It is commonly sold as alternative part numbers: L1090, EKE/AL EKE/ALUM, 62037 9596ER, EKE/ER, EKE/Alum, and EKE/Aluminum. Typical life 200 h. Made in Japan.


Why choose the AL / ER variant

  • Aluminum reflector (ER/AL) sends IR + visible forward → higher NIR throughput into fiber bundles, ideal for spectroscopy, NIR imaging, and materials inspection.

  • Drop‑in fit for fixtures that specify ANSI EKE (21 V, 150 W, GX5.3). Always verify thermal requirements; AL reflectors run a warmer beam than dichroic “cool‑beam” lamps.

  • Tight filament (CC‑6) for good coupling into 3–8 mm fiber bundles.

Note: EKE/AL  is not appropriate if application demands a cooler beam on the sample.  Consider using the standard dichroic reflector EKE instead.
